So people like trees, it seems.
I’d spent this week observing trees, spaces without trees, and people’s opinions of trees. The latter actually proved the most fruitful, with
What I’d like to do is create something like this:
Simpler, start with:
“Ahhh trees. When I think of trees I think of climbing and its wildlife
habitat. I also think of shade and how it keeps mountains from tumbling
down on us(roots). I climbed many trees in my life and will clinb even
more. As for what kind, I like fruit trees. Great source of food. So what
a tree cab do for me, provide support so that I can attach zip lines and
zip through the forest. You have to try it, soooo much fun.”“l like the smell of leaves in fall
and I like eating fruits directly from trees
(cherries, apples,apricots..)
and if I would ask for someting from a tree it would
be that it has an elevator inside that takes me to its
top so can look around and into the silly birds eyes”“Linked Lists and Hoffman encoding.”
“OH shit, duh, I want them to give us the knowledge of how to adopt photosynthesis effectively to tap the energy from the sun so we all aren’t swimming in Manhattan in 20 years.”
“1) climbing (fun), relax, home!
2) don’t they do enough for us already????
please no hugging trees….
don’t ask what they ccan do for u, ask what u can do for them!
ok.. now seriously.. more than they do i can’t remember… ”“The sound is the biggest thing. After that the colour of leaves in the fall. And now I think of trees in terms of how much energy they absorb from the sun. Shade and coolness in the summer. A more humane alternative to blocks and blocks of heat absorbing concrete.
My favourite to climb are pine… usually you can get right to the top.”
“I like trees that you can lean against in summer time, but I find it
unfortuante when the roots jam into your back or make sitting
uncomrfotable. I also like tress you can climb, and enjoy the feel of
willow trees and pine trees that you can go inside and seem to have a
magical world hidden beneath their boughs.”“I like climbing them too.
My fav thing though is to lie down (preferably in a hammock) and look up into them from below.
I like to follow the branches to the ends.
I love when breezes make all the leaves sway and the sound of them all moving together.”“Have you ever seen Evil Dead?
Trees are rapists.”“I think/see fresh green.
nature/maternal
childhood
eternal beings?? I wish/hope they outlive us(humans).
and i think of mango trees”“1. Maine pines. Playing in them as a kid, tag actually, very exciting. Shade, love, safety. I love trees. They have a deep history with humans and I think it still resonates with us from thousands of years ago.
2. They already do plenty. But i suppose they could configure their leaves in rain to really be dry under them, that would be cool. And be configured for tree houses so you don’t need nails.”
“1) fresh air and 2)make applesoh yeah and I love to climb them”
Update — Raphael just suggested this kinda thing, which he said he used to see a lot growing up:
Apparently, called a “gem tree” — this gives me an entirely different route to go, thinking of having lil’ LED’s on the end of each branch, rather than have fiberoptic wire or something.
Sweet idea!
