Currents-a-plenty

So. At this point, we have a stepper. We know that it outputs up to 35V or so when spun really fast. We made an LED blink (when spinning gently — no sense in killing an innocent light), we tested voltage in an open circut… and now we’ve tested a short circuit.

Burton and I wired up a stepper into a rectifier circuit to see how much voltage we could get out of the sucker, and make sure that we knew what we were doing (we didn’t) and get voltage going in the right direction (we did). Nearly 35V out of this sucker! However, after we did the short circuit test, it looks like we’re only getting 0.4 amps out of it — which also isn’t too bad. Better yet, this is just measuring one coil of the motor — and it has three!

Rectifier’d.
