Conflux

09.12.07 |

And we’re here! After months of planning and prepping, Conflux is kicking off this weekend. It’s going to feature a metric ton of urbanists, artists, designers, thinkers, doers and watchers, and it should be an absolute blast. I’m hoping to catch as much of the festival and as many of the exhibits, installations, talks and shows as I can, but I’m also going to be presenting my beloved Concrete Crickets on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. each day on Hope Street, between Havermayer and Marcy. I’m installing them in a few points along that block, and if I can get them hidden enough, I might even leave them overnight.

It’s going to be interesting, demonstrating a project that’s meant to be deployed late at night for a few passers-by to a boisterous crowd during the day, so we’ll see how that works. The improvisations on the fly are better than the original ideas half the time anyway, so this may lead to some good advancements for the future.

More info here here and here, map here — come on out if you can!
